What We Teach
Geelong Golf Club focuses on three main competencies to develop juniors in our academy into high performing golfers.

Fundamentals
Our primary focus for all kids that start their golfing journey in our academy is the fundamentals. As this allows all kids build a strong foundation to support them as they start to expand their technical ability. Juniors will learn correct grip, posture, setup, and alignment to develop confidence, consistency, and great habits from the beginning.

Short Game
Secondly, we emphasise the importance of learning chipping and putting before moving on to the full swing, as these are the skills that allow kids to excel at the game. We teach these skills through fun and engaging activities. Kids will improve technique, distance control, touch, and imagination while learning how to save shots and lower scores.

Full Swing
Once the juniors have developed their short game, our coaching will support the development of a powerful and reliable full swing with both irons and woods. Juniors will explore ball flight, shot shaping, and swing fundamentals designed to help them hit longer, straighter, and more controlled shots.
Why Us?
Our Junior Golf Academy program and coaching structure are specifically designed for identifying and nurturing tomorrow’s future champions. We understand that the early stages of a child’s motor skills development are the most critical, which is why our programs are designed to nurture all aspects of your child’s development.
It is important to know that boys and girls acquire different skills at different times in their lives. Areas such as strength and speed, along with the development of specific motor skills need to be considered in order to design a program that not only creates successful golfers but enhances their transition into adult life.
Ideally, we will have classes with kids of matching ability and age groups, but with people having different timetables through other commitments there may be exceptions to this rule. If demand is there, extra classes may be added to accommodate everyone.
