Geelong Golf Club celebrates a successful SWGA pennant season with a grand final triumph

Geelong Golf Club has capped off a fantastic 2026 SWGA pennant season, highlighted by an undefeated Division 4 side claiming the premiership with a strong victory over Ocean Grove in the grand final at Clifton Springs Golf Club.

The club fielded competitive teams throughout the season, with the Division 1 side narrowly missing finals after a series of impressive performances against some of the region’s strongest clubs. Across all divisions, the commitment, sportsmanship, and team culture displayed by players made this one of the club’s most successful pennant campaigns.

Venue Manager Paul Christie praised the efforts of everyone involved throughout the season.

“We are incredibly proud of all our pennant players and volunteers this year. The commitment shown week in, week out was outstanding, and to see our Division 4 side finish the season undefeated and win the premiership is a fantastic reward for the group,” Christie said.

Geelong Golf Club also thanked the South Western Golf Association for organising another successful pennant season and Clifton Springs Golf Club for hosting the finals day.

With promotion secured, Geelong Golf Club now looks ahead to 2027 where the club will compete strongly in Division 1 and Division 3 pennant competitions.
